Job Description: Participating as a key design team member, you will perform mechanical engineering functions including product development assignments to create, support or maintain NBSC bioprocess product offerings (fermentation, bioreactors).

Work with mechanical design personnel within development engineering to complete assignments.

Duties will include the generation of engineering design and calculations, drawings, bills of materials, project schedules, project costing and quality documentation.

Work closely with colleagues in Product Management, Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing functions to implement specified design requirements into production quality systems.

Participate as a key member of Product Development team.

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years experience or Masters degree.

Experience with piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, agitation systems and instrumentation.

Proficient with SolidWorks or Pro-Engineer, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.

Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

An understanding of product development, FMEA, workflow processing techniques and familiarity with MRP systems is desirable.

Work effectively in a change-oriented environment, under very tight timeframes and be able to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

1. Lead mechanical portion of various engineering projectswith a financial scope of up to $500 thousand.

2. Provide design, development, and optimization of diaper and training pants converting and manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives.

3. Develop knowledge and skills in application of engineering principles and scientific analysis.

4. Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner.

Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines.

Provide for the safety and well being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.

5. Define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives.

Identify technical issues to determine root cause.

Qualifications

1. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or other applicable Engineering degree from an accredited college or university.

2. A minimum of 2.8/4.0 grade point average (GPA) is required.

3. A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications

1. A 3.0/4.0 or higher GPA is preferred.

2. Up to 3 years of experience in an engineering role, which may include co-op or internship experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or in a manufacturing support role3) Exposure to manufacturing analysis tools, such as: design of experiments: process capability studies4) Experience with Kimberly-Clark engineering procedures and processes (i.
