Specific Responsibilities: Provide administrative assistant support for preparation of Board of Directors reports and Habitat submissions.
Prepare Weekly Legislative Updates, annual legislative report and quarterly Dwelling Issues; Prepare correspondence, independently when possible, ie prepare drafts for approval by Director of Governmental Affairs; Compile and prepare various reports when requested by Director of Governmental Affairs; Prepare and file reports required by the State Ethics Commission (PAC and Lobbyist), and other government entities as required; Provide assistance, when needed, to Director of Governmental Affairs and Governmental Affairs Representative; Monitor newspaper, county and municipal websites for industry related items; Maintain departmental files.
Additional Duties: Provide staff support for Golf and Tennis Tournaments, Trade Show, Dinner Meetings, Apartment Market Workshop, and other events as requested; Prepare Legislative Alerts for dissemination to Governmental Affairs Committee and membership; Respond to e-mail or phone call requests for legislative or research information from membership; Coordinate Government Affairs Committee, subcommittee and task force meetings and conference calls; Coordinate annual Legislative Reception; Coordinate arrangements for legislative breakfast and Georgia congressional appointments for the annual Capital Conference; Maintain departmental files and records for Political Action Committee and assist Director of Governmental Affairs, Government Affairs Representative and PAC Chairman with any fundraising events or programs; Work with other departments to produce GAA Law Book and Law Book updates; Assist Director of Governmental Affairs and Governmental Affairs Representative with meeting and travel arrangements Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Governmental Affairs or Executive Officer.
