Position Description: Position purpose: The Benefits Administrator will be responsible for supporting the entire employee population with issues relevant to benefits services and programs.
The scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to administering all programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, etc.; assisting in special projects including open enrollment, plan audits and communications initiatives; acting as the primary point of contact and a knowledgeable resource for all related issues; and resolving or issues escalated by the Benefits Coordinator to ensure customer satisfaction, and provide quick follow-up.
Additionally, you the benefits administrator will perform day-to-day administrative functions, including enrollments, terminations and invoice processing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Interpret and relay provisions of employer-sponsored benefits plans from Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions and other related plan materials to employees
Counsel HR personnel and employees on the various benefit programs including interpretation of policies and plan provisions.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, plan provisions and claims and communicate with various carriers regarding employee eligibility and claims once escalated.
Assist Benefits Manager with New Business Analysis and special projects as assigned.
Manage eligibility for all benefit plans, including generating eligibility file transmissions, auditing benefit enrollment activity and reconciling data with carriers.
Oversee the process of monthly premium payments for all fully-insured products ensuring accurate and timely payments.
Conduct periodical audits of benefit programs to ensure accuracy of data, compliance with corporate process and procedures and compliance with applicable government regulations.
Assist with EIS system setup and testing for plan modifications and periodic updates.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
Oversee and delegate as necessary payroll adjustments due to benefit election changes, etc.
Coordinate and monitor employee leaves of absence under FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.
Audit, collect and account for employee benefits deductions in arrears.
Conduct benefits orientation for new hires.
Assist in management and coordination of annual open enrollment process.
Assist in department projects and initiatives as requested.
Responsible for 401(k) administration including but not limited to single point of contact for discrepancies and questions, open enrollment and annual audits.

Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
Ability to prioritize projects and tasks while remaining productive and professional.
Ability to think creatively, multi-task and to perform successfully in a very fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good people skills in order to provide exceptional service to AEG employees and clients.
Ability to type at least 50 w.

Able to work with a sense of urgency in order to perform tasks efficiently.
Good supervisory skills.
Knowledge of various federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
Education: College degree plus additional courses or seminars related to benefits administration and/or processing.
PHR preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years related benefits administration experienceOther: Good knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures.
