Complete Description Certified/Registered Medical Assistant/MA diploma with at least 3 years experience to assist in a busy Internal Medicine Practice, located on the main campus of Piedmont Hospital.

Performs a variety of patient communication activities in accordance with established standards and practices.

Performs the following duties, including but not limited to: escorting patients to exam rooms; obtaining vital signs, x-rays, EKG's, and other pertinent patient history; explaining procedures to patients.

Responsible for cleaning, stocking/preparing exam rooms.

Follows universal precautions at all times.

May also perform telephone management and other non-clinical duties: (eg scheduling appointments, processing referrals, call backs, etc.) Triages incoming telephone calls; responds to questions regarding medications and treatment instruction; coordinates telephone requests to refill prescription drug medications in accordance with physician's directions and protocols.
