Support IT system users in areas related to proper use of equipment / utilities or failure recovery, printing issues, communications issues, security, etc.
Act as liaison to hardware and systems software vendors and other users of system.

Is actively involved in software and/or functional user groups.

Project management and administration.

Maintain work plans, tracks effort and progress versus plan, and provide appropriate status information regarding projects and support issues.

Assist in application project work, including systems analysis, design and programming tasks related to enhancements, interfaces and special reporting requirements, etc.
Coordinate / direct the activities of work teams on a project basis.

Team members may be other IT staff, outside contractors, technicians, etc.
Train and assist IT staff in the proper use of IT tools and utilities.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
College degree in IT or business is preferred, but not required.

Two years experience in an SAP R/3 environment supporting the full area known as SAP Basis, which includes system configuration, operating system setup / support, database tuning, performance monitoring, OS-level scripting, technical programming, etc.
Two years of commercial applications programming or support experience.

One year of systems analysis or project leadership experience.

General knowledge and understanding of business operations.

Working knowledge of disaster recovery concepts and practices.

Proficiency in analysis and design techniques.

Good project management and time management skills, including planning, methodologies, time tracking, leadership, etc.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new IT skills and concepts.

Good communication skills.

Working knowledge of many computing platforms.

Working knowledge of several relational databases.

Working knowledge of IT communications networks.

Highly knowledgeable and skilled in one or more of the following in each category: – Operating Systems: HP-Unix, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 9x.

Experience in Linux and/or DEC Vax is less critical, but would be a nice to have.

- SAP R/3: Performance tuning, support pack application, kernel upgrades, CTS, ITS, GUI rollout and maintenance, printer administration, basic ABAP programming, kernel tuning.

Experience in SAPs BW, APO, EH&S, Solution Manager, GUI Scripting, Report Writer, SAP Script or other report writers or query tools is a plus.

- System Software / Tools: Oracle database, Oracle Network Client, HPs Data Protector, GlancePlus, MC Service Guard, Microsoft Clustering, Veritos Online JFS, JetAdmin printer management, Apache Web Server, IIS Web Server, and Sendmail.

- Secondary Less Critical Software: Sterling Gentran EDI, Vertex QSUT, Optio DCS/Fax/Print Manager, full command of Microsofts office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

High level of proficiency with various IT applications development tools, such as Unix/Linux shell scripting, ABAP/4, C, report writers, query tools, basic HTML and JavaScript, PHP, etc.
Working knowledge of PC and PC-LAN computing environment.

Working knowledge and understanding of data communications software and hardware, such as switches, hubs and understanding of TCP/IP.
