These systems require electronic controls to manage and monitor A123 Systems revolutionary Lithium Ion battery cells, sub modules and systems, and communicate to host systems, such as motor vehicle controllers and PLCs Primary responsibilities Interface to product management and customers to gather requirements and create product specifications, Design, prototype, evaluate, and document prototype and production-ready electronic systems, Develop test specifications and plans for product verification, Interface with and assist test engineering and manufacturing engineering to verify compliance of product to mandated safety and conformance, customer, and A123 Systems requirements, Interface to manufacturing to design products to production standards, Conduct design previews and reviews, and participate or lead DFMEA and WCA reviews, Co-develop products along with software, firmware, mechanical, and PCB engineers and others, Mentor junior electrical engineers to guide their development Specific Skills/AbilitiesThis position requires demonstrated expertise in embedded microprocessor design with interfacing to analog, digital, and power electronics in high noise environments,Familiarity with high voltage/high current PC Board design, high efficiency micropower power supply design, and isolated communication circuits is required, Familiarity with general firmware design and basic understanding C code is desirable, Experience in taking products from concept to production in a cost sensitive, high volume environment is required, Good communication skills, both oral and written, are requiredEducation/Experience Bachelors Degree in engineering or technical field required 10+ years direct exposure in related fields of analog, power and digital circuit design.

Qualifications • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred. • 3-5 years product management or product marketing experience; Previous experience within the Enterprise Software market is a BIG plus. • Experience demonstrating products and solutions and communicating on technical issues, including product training. • Exceptional public speaking skills. • Strong project management skills. • Ability to thrive in a demanding environment requiring high degree of deadline-driven productivity, adaptability, communication, initiative and follow-through. • Excellent time management, organizational and leadership skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality products. • Excellent writing/communication skills and strong interpersonal skills; team oriented and proactive. • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
